Need a crane in Northampton without the cost and setup time of a dedicated crane company? Our lorry-mounted crane hire (HIAB) service handles most lifting jobs in a single visit: the crane arrives on the back of the lorry, lifts and positions your load, and leaves — no separate crane hire, no outriggers left on site all day, one invoice.
What our lorry-mounted cranes lift
- Building materials — bricks, blocks, timber, roof trusses and steel beams
- Shipping containers, site cabins and welfare units
- Plant and machinery on and off trailers
- Hot tubs, sheds, garden rooms and heavy domestic deliveries
- Kerbside-to-position lifts over walls, fences and into rear gardens
Crane hire vs HIAB hire — which do you need?
For most jobs under around 10 tonnes with reasonable access, a lorry-mounted crane does everything a small mobile crane would — faster and cheaper, because transport and lifting happen in one movement. A dedicated mobile crane only becomes necessary for very heavy lifts, extreme reach, or restricted positions. If you’re not sure, our guide to HIAB vs crane walks through the decision, or just call and describe the job.
Coverage
We operate from Northampton and cover the whole county — including Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby and Rushden — plus surrounding counties for larger jobs. See our main HIAB self-loading hire page for the full service.
